Dense fog may have caused collision in Torrance, closing a major intersection

An early Friday morning collision in Torrance that knocked down a light post and forced the closure of a key intersection may have been caused by dense fog.

The Torrance Police Department reported that due to the accident, northbound Crenshaw Blvd. at Del Amo Blvd. is closed.

Fog covers the intersection in the video, making it hard to see the street signs.

A light post fell as a result of the collision, which happened at around 7 a.m., but no one was hurt, according to the police.

While repairs are being made, the intersection will be closed.

For the majority of Friday morning, coastal communities and areas next to the coast are under a dense fog warning. The warning lasted until 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
