48-year-old woman arrested for arson outside Eagle Rock boxing gym

A 48-year-old man was taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police Department after he allegedly set some trash on fire outside of an Eagle Rock Boxing gym.

The Lako Boxing Club, located in the 4400 block of Eagle Rock Boulevard, was the scene of the alleged arson on Sunday morning. Marvella Salomon, 48, set off the fire, which was seen on tape by security cameras outside the gym.

“She moved a mattress over to a fitness tire that we use for workouts and then put some other stuff on top of it and then proceeded to light on fire and briskly walked away,” Yuichi Ohi, the owner, said.

On December 19, Salomon was taken into custody by Northeast Division officers who patrol the area after identifying her from a wanted flier that detectives had created.

She was charged with both arson of personal property and arson of a structure. The bail amount for her is $125,000.
