Several people injured after Metro bus crashes into parked big rig in El Monte

On Wednesday morning, a Metro bus struck a large rig in El Monte, injuring several people.

between 6:05 a.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on the scene of a collision between Rosemead Boulevard and Klingerman Street involving a Metro bus and a large rig.

The bus driver struck the parked large rig carrying plywood, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

At least 11 passengers, including the bus driver, were hurt, the LACFD said CBS News Los Angeles. The condition of the one person who had a heart attack remains unknown.

Near Klingerman, southbound Rosemead is closed. In around an hour, authorities hope to have the road open.
