Kidnapping suspect arrested after pursuit through LA and Orange counties

A guy from Los Angeles County was taken into custody by police Monday night after he allegedly abducted at least two women, one of whom suffered serious physical abuse while in captivity for about two weeks.

Arturo Urbina, 30, was detained by the Fullerton Police Department after he wrecked after a pursuit that ended in Torrance. Investigators claimed that after he reportedly abducted a woman on December 11, they began looking for him. The victim said that during her captivity, she had been sexually molested and beaten. According to Fullerton police, he had multiple guns on him at the time of the incident.

According to a LASD detective, he was also wanted by the LA County Sheriff’s Department for a second kidnapping in which he allegedly abducted a woman and held her captive for a few weeks. The victim is currently healing, according to the detectives, who did not provide specifics about her injuries.

After speaking with the ATF Orange County Violent Crime Task Force, Fullerton’s investigation into the alleged kidnapping took them to Urbina on December 16.

To capture Urbina, they collaborated with LA County deputies and the California Highway Patrol. He ultimately collided with a post in Torrance, though, because he would not stop. He attempted to flee from his car, but police apprehended him right away.

Numerous guns were discovered at the site and on Urbina.
