Monday night, there was a shooting in Huntington Park that left a woman dead and a man wounded.
At 9:40 p.m., the Huntington Park Police Department was contacted regarding gunfire in the vicinity of the 3900 block of East 60th Street. Officers discovered a woman inside a truck with at least one gunshot wound when they arrived. Later, she was declared dead at the site.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, while officers were looking about, they came up a blood trail that led away from the location. At around the same time, a call regarding a guy who had been shot in the city of Maywood was received by the East Los Angeles sheriff’s station.
The blood trail from the Huntington Park scene was identified by the officers as belonging to the Maywood male.
The man ran to a liquor store a few blocks from the gunshot scene, according to the LACSD. He was in stable condition when he was taken to the hospital.
