Claude, Thomas help Southern California beat Montana State 89-63

Desmond The Trojans defeated Montana State 89-63 on Sunday night, with Claude scoring 19 points, Saint Thomas scoring 13 of his season-high 17 points in the first half, and Southern California never falling behind.

Claude was 7 of 8 from the free-throw line and 6 of 8 from the field. Rashaun Agee scored 10 points and Chibuzo Agbo finished with 12 points for USC.

17 seconds into the game, Claude converted a basket, and USC (7-4) took the lead from there. After Brandon Walker’s layup put Montana State ahead with 17:57 remaining in the first half, Agbo made a 3-pointer. The Trojans then scored 22 of the next 25 points to make it 27-5 when Saint Thomas made a 3-pointer with 9:58 remaining in the half.

USC led by at least 20 points during the second half and had a 47–21 lead at the break.

Walker scored 14 points on 5 of 11 shooting to lead Montana State (5-6). Together, the remaining Bobcats made 15 of 50 (30%) from the field. Jeremiah Davis scored nine of his eleven points in the second half and hit eight of his eight free throws.

Southern Cal outscored the Bobcats 49-27 and made 32 of 63 (51%) of their field goals.
