UCLA coach DeShaun Foster says performance coach apologized to team after penalty
Head performance coach Corey Miller felt awful about taunting USC players and receiving a penalty on Saturday, according to UCLA coach DeShaun Foster.
Skipper has led the Bulldogs to a 6-5 record and bowl eligibility since taking over as interim coach prior to the season when Jeff Tedford resigned due to health concerns. Last weekend, Fresno State defeated Colorado State for the first time in the Mountain West Conference, recording its greatest win of the year.
When Skipper and Foster previously faced off on this field, Foster won. In September 2000, UCLA defeated Fresno State 24–21, as Foster ran for 140 yards and two touchdowns. That day, Bulldogs middle linebacker Skipper made one tackle for loss.
Since then, given their familial ties, there have just been handshakes and embraces. Foster’s former Bruins running backs coach, Kelly Skipper, stated that he still calls Foster to obtain his opinion on West Coast running backs. In his Gilbert, Arizona, home, Jim Skipper, Foster’s running backs coach with the Panthers, had a picture of Foster plunging into the end zone during Super Bowl XXXVIII in what he called his “little man cave.”
