An announcement was made on Wednesday by the Texas Thoroughbred Association, who are hosting the Texas Summer Yearling Sale at the sales pavilion at Lone Star Park. The sale is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. CT on August 26. A total of 207 yearlings have been cataloged by the organization.
Yearlings from 91 different breeds will be up for sale at the auction, including those from Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Additionally, CS Sales, the agent for Three Feathers Farm, will be consigning a special dispersal of horses.
The number of horses entered in the sale has increased to 217 with the dispersal, which includes both weanlings and broodmares.

Foster Bridewell, director of sales at the TTA, expressed his satisfaction with the number and quality of the yearlings included in this year’s catalogue.
We saw a slight decrease in the overall number when compared to last year’s record-breaking entries, but this offering features some exceptional individuals from all around the region.
The TTA’s pre-sale celebration, which takes place every August 25th at 5:30 p.m. CT in Lone Star Park’s Alysheba Room, will be held again this year. Anyone interested in buying, selling, or riding a horse is welcome to attend.
