Miami-Dade, Florida –
A prisoner at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center faces accusations of intimidating a man from southwest Miami-Dade by sending him menacing messages on Instagram.
As per a report from the Miami-Dade Police Department published on Wednesday, Jovannie Castro, a 30-year-old resident of Florida City, has been charged with one count of making written threats to cause harm or death.
Law enforcement officers were dispatched to the vicinity of the 29000 block of Southwest 149th Court on June 26th in response to a report from the victim, who had received threatening messages from Castro on Instagram just after 5 p.m.
According to detectives, the victim shared screenshots of the menacing messages, in which Castro eerily stated, “I will be the one to end your life.” They release a mist for the initial application. “I won’t show you any mercy.” Afterwards, he continued, “No, what I desire is your soul.”
After thorough examination, detectives confirmed that the Instagram account was owned by Castro, as it displayed a full-length photograph of him as the profile picture.

The arrest report did not reveal the connection between Castro and the victim.
Castro is currently detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center after breaking house arrest for a different offense.
The amount of his bond remains unknown at this time.
