(WFCN) —
Lancaster, Ohio – A firefighter from the Columbus Division of Fire was taken into custody after a complaint was lodged on Sunday alleging rape.
Christopher Allen Shaffer, 38, of Pickerington, was wanted on a single charge of first-degree felony rape, according to court records.
The warrant was issued on Monday. On July 31, Shaffer will make his next appearance in the Fairfield County Common Pleas Court.
A representative from the Columbus Fire Department verified that Shaffer was an employee of the agency.
Columbus Fire Batallion Chief Jeffery Geitter stated, “The Columbus Division of Fire is aware of the criminal charges against one of its members.”.
