Now Help Needed: San José Police Investigate Human Trafficking Case Involving Seattle Man

SAN JOSE, California —

Rashan Fellows, 42, of Seattle, was detained on Monday, July 8, by the San José Special Operations M.E.R.G.E. Unit, METRO Unit, and VCET Unit, who were investigating suspicions of commercial sex trafficking. There has been a need for the public’s assistance from the San José police force.

A San José Police Department Human Trafficking Task Force (HTTF) investigation into a case of pimping and pandering began on June 1, 2024, and has since been exhaustive and detailed.

The suspect had entered into an online relationship with a person he thought was an adult female, according to detectives. Supposedly, the suspect traveled to California to meet the adult female and planned to use her for commercial sex trafficking.

An arrest warrant was issued for Rashan Fellows after detectives identified him as the suspect.

The accused traveled to San José, Costa Rica, on July 8, 2024, to meet the victim in preparation for their sexual encounter for financial gain.

Officers from the San José Police Department’s Special Operations M.E.R.G.E. Unit, METRO Unit, and VCET Unit worked together to apprehend suspect Fellows in San José. Fellows was subsequently booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges relating to commercial sex trafficking.
