17-year old girl fatally shot at party in Signal Hill; six others wounded

On Saturday, a shooting at a party near Signal Hill left one adolescent dead and multiple others injured.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reports that the incident occurred in the 1000 block of E. Burnett Street on Saturday just before 10:15 p.m.

When Signal Hill Police Department officers arrived on the site, they discovered seven teenagers—three male and four female—with gunshot wounds.

The victims were between the ages of 17 and 19, according to LASD deputies who were called in to help with the investigation.

After being transported to local hospitals, three of the victims—including a 17-year-old girl—later passed away. She hasn’t been named yet.

Following the incident, deputies said that partygoers dispersed from the area.
